Nehemiah Update
April 28, 2009
Greetings to All Everyone with Nehemiah Construction Ministries would like to thank all who have taken time to pray and encourage us in this time of uncertainty. I am sorry for the sporadic updates but we are really just getting bits and pieces day by day from the team in Kenya. The latest update is that Samuel has had his surgery, he has regained some feeling in his feet and is in a wheel chair. It has been approximately 10 days since the surgery and he has been discharged but not released. My understanding is in Africa, you are not released from the hospital until your bill has been paid. They are no longer giving him care but charging him daily while he is there. His hospital bills are approx. $2500 Canadian. Please pray for finances for Samuel and as well that he will continue to find the rehabilitation care he needs. Samuel holds a special place in my heart because he is the first Lokore boy to finish highschool and has dreams of becoming a lawyer. He has always been part of our teams when we go to Kenya, always eager to help with a smile on his face. Please pray for perseverance and strength for Samuel to push through this difficult time. If anyone would like to help with any part of the Medical expenses, please let us know ASAP. We can make a difference in this young man's life. Pastor Wilson and Alice have gone to his parents home in Nyeri. Her jaw is still broken and they were not able to wire or do surgery on her until the baby is born in Early July. She is on pain medicine and needs help caring for herself and their son Fortress. They will reassess when the baby is born. Funds have come in to cover Alice's hospital expenses so far. Surgery in the future will be expensive ($2500). Dave will be returning May 6th to assess the damage to the Land Rover, deal with the Insurance end of things and all the reports that need to be done with the local officials. Please pray for wisdom and favor. Stuart Rempel and I will be meeting with Pastor Wilson, Zeddys and the rest of the drilling team in Kakuma, hopefully to encourage and help in whatever way we can.
